Are you struggling with your reactive dog?
So your dog goes crazy when they see another dog and you are getting to the end of your tether. You have tried so many things to help but nothing makes much difference.
It has got so you dread leaving the house and it is stressing you out. On good days you feel embarrassed and frustrated. On bad days you are in despair. Yet you love your dog and you just wish other people could see the gentle, loving pooch he is at home.
How would you like to be able to have the connection you have at home, wherever you go? To be confident with your dog, even when there are other dogs around? To have peaceful walks where you feel able to handle whatever situations you meet?
Your End of the Lead can help.
Christine McMillan
Before starting your course I had tried so many different ways to deal with Heidi’s reactive behaviour and I was at a loss as to what to do next. By giving us continual encouragement, support and guidance you have given me the confidence to move forward. You have shown me how to put the fun into training and Heidi is thriving on it.

What you will gain

I have returned to follow Janet's courses again and again. Originally to help with one of my dogs that would at times display reactive behaviour to other dogs. However, the skills I have acquired, the increased understanding and amazing support has helped me have a better relationship with all my dogs. These courses will have something for everyone who shares their life with a dog, what ever their previous qualifications and experience with dogs may be.

How the course works
Your End of the Lead is a modular course, with modules released in sequence throughout 2020 and into 2021. There are eight modules in total, each lasting between 4 and 8 weeks. You can choose to do one module, multiple modules or the whole course - it is up to you.
We recommend the whole course as all the modules build on each other to get the best experience but each module is an independent learning experience in its own right.
This means that today you can sign up for Module 3 and then Pay As You Go, or you can jump right in and get a 25% discount if you sign up for the whole course upfront. The choice is yours! (The option of 25% off for buying the whole course has been extended to Module 3 because of the coronavirus situation but it will only be possible to buy future modules as Pay as You Go).
Each module has weekly video lessons, weekly activities and a full resource section. There is also a private and safe community space, which will continue throughout the whole course, so you can stay in touch with friends and allies from one module to the next.

Module 3: The Predictable Dog
The third module is The Predictable Dog: Changing how you think about your dog. It starts on May 11th 2020 (Week 1 released on May 8th) and will last for 4 weeks.
It will teach you how to observe your dog so that you will be able to predict how they will behave in different situations and will highlight triggers that you can address even before you leave your home. In this module we will cover ACE (Animal Centred Education) techniques in detail.
This module will cover:
-
The predictable dog: rethinking trigger stacking
-
ACE observations: becoming a dog detective.
-
The Emotional dog and ACE
-
The power of language, labels and limiting beliefs.
On Friday each week you will get a series of video lessons, a collection of activities and some additional resources in case you want to explore things further.
The following week we will discuss the activities in the Community and share experiences and support.
The lessons offer practical solutions but are rooted in research and you will learn not only what to do but why it is important.
On completion you will understand your dog and their triggers so much better and have ways to both reduce the effect of those triggers and be able to predict how your dog will behave in different situations.

Janet's online course is brilliant! I love that Janet's approach is so much about compassion and changing your own mindset as well as helping your nervous dog. She has so many different tools available and the challenges she runs are a nice way to learn from the experiences of others in the forum. Joining Canine Confidence last year has made a huge difference to our life and I highly recommend it!
